Youth Group Report for Vestry
We have had 7-12 youth and 2 leaders attending weekly.
We have been focusing on themes of community service, team work, being encouraging and helpful, and on some basic Biblical literacy (how it’s laid out, old vs new testament, etc). We have been having fun playing pingpong and group games, and interesting and insightful group discussions.
We are excited about our mission to make positive changes to a global problem at the local level. The youth have decided to focus on Environmental concerns, especially food insecurity and loss of farming land worsened by Climate Change. We will be stepping out in service to our community in the coming weeks.
We start each meeting with the prayer
“Father God,
Thank you for impacting our lives and our purpose with your truth. Open our eyes to see the opportunities around us to serve you and to grow in your blessings and favor. Bless our time together, focus our minds, soften our hearts, make our time together count for you. AMEN”
And close with
“Jesus,Thank You for placing friends in our lives to love us and intercede on our behalf. Help us to have powerful faith and to act on our faith to love and help others. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. ”
The Youth and Leaders would like to thank the congregations of Holy Trinity and St Mary’s Anglican Churches for their enthusiasm and continued support for our group! We pray that God will continue to bless and inspire our time together and that he will use this group for good.
